Racism:

Where exactly did it begin? Why, did it begin? Oh, how the roots have spread, and the harvest has grown.

I have many thoughts concerning such a small word that has shaped the ugliness that exists in all nations. In my desire to give my opinion on it - an intellectual viewpoint, I began to do a little research on the matter. After time viewing much of what I already knew, I decided that I would give my opinion on the matter. Not that of others.

The beautiful thing, that so many fail to realize, is the wonderful awe behind our Creator's ability to bring about such a vast variety in the appearance of man. From one extreme, our whitest white brother, through all the varieties leading to the blackest of black. Can you imagine a world where we cherish, appreciate and enjoy the difference? Where we look in wonder and awe at the abilities of our brother, and not in jealousy. Where our interest in him is because of a profound desire to learn his strengths to aid in the bettering of our world. Instead of seeking to learn his weaknesses to destroy him? The beautiful thing is - I believe that we want to love our brother...but we can't, because the people around us has said there is a reason to hate him. Though few of us are actually clear on the reason why. For some of us...the reasons are due to anger of injustice caused by past abuses. For others ...it's simply what has been taught.

The ugly fact of the matter is, that racism was born and grown from time of it's beginning with the seeds of GREED and POWER. One longing for things, or a position in this world that to him does not belong. Way back, it was an angel that wanted what was not to be his and because of that, he was partly responsible for destroying the life span of man. Moving backward from him, a man, Nimrod, the first true hunter, conqueror, warrior responsible for the lasting division of all mankind. A division that has grown, because of his greed, his desire for power. Since him, man has ever been moving backward, not forward - down to our day, coveting in his greedy power struggles, shedding any and all honor, integrity, dignity, self respect, freedom and BLOOD of his brothers to gain power.

From my standpoint, I see the harvest from the seeds of power and greed are...

• *Injustice
• *Prejudice
• *Misplaced Pride
• *Divisions
  
• *Insecurities
• *Ignorance
• *Hatred
• *Violence
• *War
• *Inability to Forgive

Again, the way I see it, all done, manifested, under so called, righteous government.
Every race is guilty of the crime. Of being greedy, seeking power. From the currently reigning Jewish/caucasians, back to the once reigning kings of Africa, Egypt and Asia. One man after another, of every race, has wanted the power of ruling over other men. To bring themselves up in a social level that proved always to belittle the man he chose to conquer. Glory Seekers. Men suffering from the same ailment as the original fallen angel. Giving into seizures of wanting to be like God. Man's one and only true ruler, deserving the Sovereignty He will one day claim. Somehow convincing himself that by whatever means necessary, he is justified in overtaking a nation of people to rule over, claiming their land resources as his. Their lives, to govern as he sees fit. To control for the greatest financial gain. Always for gain.

In order to successfully do this of course, one must be psychologically convinced that he is, better, greater, superior, smarter and within his right to enforce his will upon those he has chosen to dominate and subjugate. There are many ways in which one can do this. Throughout history, all means have been administered. It's all a matter of who is the more aggressive. Who is willing to be the more ruthless. Who is willing to numb and destroy any conscience or heart for what is morally right and just.

So the victims, must be dehumanized in the eyes of those who are to follow the leader, they must see them as he, the leader does. That's where the seeds of *Prejudice are planted. The thinking, the brain must be washed clean of all morality and belief that the victims are equal, intelligent, human.
They must be painted, immoral. Uncivilized. Ignorant. Ugly. Unfeeling. Animal. Weak. Whatever differences there be, these must be amplified, and marked in the minds of the conquered and those doing the conquering. That's where the seeds of *Misplaced Pride are planted, taught. And so, deserving of conquering, enslaving, controlling.

Now comes the fear in those being conquered, that's where the seeds of *Insecurities are planted. Men who were once confident and proud. Are now belittled and demeaned. For a time, giving into defeat and accepting the lowering of their status. Now comes a very crucial part in the maintaining of established power. *Ignorance must flourish. Seeds of stupidity must be planted. All means of believing and wanting to be better must be removed. Yet unbeknown to the conqueror, something else as well grows with the ignorance. *Hatred, seeds of hatred are now planted on both sides. The conquerors must hate their enslaved in order to continue the hold or control, through whatever means necessary, even murder. The conquered, must come to hate those ruling, in order to fuel the very thing it will take in order for them to one day be free. *Violence...this seed must now sprout and grow, for in the time of it's harvest, what it all has come to be in the reaping is...*War!!

Where did it all begin....with greed!

Again, for I feel it's important that I emphasize this fact. All men are guilty of this crime. The crime of planting the seeds of racism, divisions. African Kings, are guilty of it, causing tribal wars that still exist in Africa today. Maintained now by the placed religious Clergy. Enslaving his brethren. Simply because he could not jump as high; run as far or fast; endure the struggle or wrestle. So pompous in his reign, that when the Spaniard came, he traded his brother, (slave) for whatever baubles they brought to him for the trade. For the sweet taste of sugar, he would turn over many of the first ones who became a slave to the white man, after having already been a slave to his fellow black man.

Of course we all know of the mighty Vikings! William the Conqueror! The Anglo-Saxons! The long process of making English government and law, the wars fought, the lands overrun and taken. To the victor go the spoils of war! Thus began the establishing of Kings, a monarchy that would exist for hundreds of years to come. Seeds of social bluebloods such as Dukes, Earls and Knights. Not necessarily in that order, but I could give a flying hoot.
Then at the closing of the Roman Empire, there was the dreaded Attila the Hun. So driven in his madness for power and greed, he killed his very on blood brother. The list can go on and on in history to show where so many seeds were indeed planted. In the end, here we are, hundreds of years after the fact.

To show by the present status quo just how deeply those seeds were planted, because the reaping of the harvest shows the strength of the crop.
In our modern day, we have the Nazi's...the KKK...Louis Farrakan...The black power movement. Again, a list that can go on and on. The effects exist even in the matter of my dear sisters. We who suffer still with the idea, and belief, that straight hair is definitely better than the natural afro kinky. To be noted as beautiful, we must relax, tint as much color towards blond as we dare to go depending on our complexion. Then there's that. The complexion of the skin. Hundreds of years ago the seed was planted that coal black skin was definitely not beautiful. Other little demeaning statements, such as brown eyes, means you're full of shit. Not to worry, you can now purchase blue, green, hazel and purple even, contacts to alter the injustices done you by being born of the wrong racial colors. You see we both hate and love our opposing sisters of that superior or inferior race. According to which ever seed was planted within you. The thing is, once we learn to love our opposite sisters, we will come to appreciate and love ourselves ...just the way we are.

You see, I believe myself just as desirable as any of my blonde haired blue eyed sisters. Just as I've stared agape at my coal black sisters, in awe, wondering did they know how beautiful they were? That's why I can smile when I see a black man with a white woman. His choosing her, as his preference had nothing to do with my lack, but simply with his own personal taste. He has that right. There's a reason God created man in the variety that he did. We have however missed the point of the reason due to the above already stated. And so we continue in our present state of affairs. Hurting each other, when truly we desire to love each other, but can't because we can't forget...too many seeds were planted with the final reaping...*Our Inability to Forgive.

So here we are, a nation of racist! Divided as we are, which suits the man in power just fine, because it allows him to continue on as the reigning conqueror - reaping the benefits of all the ugly seeds that were planted. To him, our division among one another is a beautiful thing, yeah - let's keep catering to him so that he remains in power and winning, while we continue to lose. Hating each other for reasons that were planted and taught years ago. Those original farmers of the ugly seeds planted have been long dead. But the effects of their deeds still stand. The question is, in the few moments that it took for you to read this, what have you concluded, conisered? Are there seeds of racism in you? Perhaps grown into some manifestation that keeps you Prejudiced? Mis-prided? Insecure? Ignorant? Hateful? Violent? Warring? Unforgiving? If so, I feel for you. You see, you suffer from all of these things, simply due to another man's need to gain wealth and power. Try, something...think for yourself. Do a little research. Get to know someone new, different. Reach deep, grab a hold of the plant that has sprouted from the wrong planted seeds, and pull with all of your might. Sometimes it's so deep, you may struggle and exert yourself to remove it. Sometimes it's so deep, you may have to rest, then pull again. Or even better, get someone to help you.
