I had seen this video clip sometime ago and just stared numb at the screen. It never seems to fail that when this type of abuse goes unchecked that the victim ends up either dead or disfigured for life.
I am very fortunate to be one of the women that did suffer from domestic violence and came through the other side safe and free from my tormentor. Last summer we witnessed a man slapping and pushing a women while we were driving around town. Bobby called the state troopers but as soon as the car stopped I was out the door, yelling at the man - it startled him so bad he stopped and said " Lady, you don't know what kinda person she is" as he shoved her into the back seat. I just lost it - needless to say as I was picked up , put back in my seat, buckled in and my hair in my ears singed of by Bob - the troopers had arrived. And to my shock but not surprise as they wrestled with the guy the young lady wept and tried to intervene. I make it my personal business to be candid about my past DV attacks and issues with other women, in hopes that they find the strength and an escape route before it is to late.
